Players results and quality of courts surfaces matter

Posted on 28th August 2009

Speaking about tennis it is necessary to mention about courts’ surfaces and how they influence sportsmen’s ability to play good games. As we know the major number of tennis matches is played on clay or synthetic suspended courts. That is because it is easier to keep such surfaces in good condition. And only several tournaments are held on grass surfaces. Because of grass courts’ shortage some sportsmen have no experience in playing matches on grass at all that reflects on quality of their games and may be the main reason of their loses.

To see what results one or another sportsman had achieved on any of surfaces mentioned above it is necessary to look back on his or her previous matches. Historical data will help to forecast sportsman’s ability to win on a particular court. Of course we need to take into consideration that fact that a sportsman could meet different opponents in previous matches.  Some of them were really stronger, while the others probably week. Even sportsman’s skills could change greatly through the years. That is why historical review is not a reliable data to make any forecasts of future victories. But it will certainly provide necessary information about matches played on different surfaces, as this may be the determining factor of wins and losses, and help professional gamblers to make good bets on matches.
